Shining Star-CHAPTER EIGHT
"AJ, I'm home." Adrianne said as she entered the house. He didn't answer.
"He's probably sleeping," Adrianne thought. She saw a dozen white roses on the kitchen table. Adrianne opend the card and read it-
Go outside to the pool.
Confused, Adrianne went out to the pool and saw a small box laying on a table. She opend the box and found another box. When Adrianne opend that one, she found a letter-
Hehe... go back in the house and go to the living room
Adrianne went to the living room and found a large box. When she opend it, she saw a beutiful dark blue dress with blue sparkles all over it. Also in the box was a note-
Put this on and go to our room. Love ya!- Alex
Adrianne went to the downstairs bathroom and changed. She looked absolutly stunning in the dress! After fixing her makeup, Adrianne walked up to her and AJ's room.
There were candles lit all over. In the corner was a table set up with two plates full of pasta.
"Hey angelbaby." AJ said, walking over and kissing Adrianne. "You look beutifu, as always."
"You did all this for me?" Adrianne asked.
AJ nodded yes.
"You shouldn't have." Adrianne said, "You're suppose to be resting."
AJ replied, "Adrianne, I may be injuried, but I'm not crippled. Besides, I had it all delivered."
Adrianne smiled at him, "I don't deserve this."
"Of course you do." AJ said, "I can't exactly take you oout so I figured this is the next best thing. C'mon lets eat."
The two of them sat down and ate.
"Wow" Adrianne said, "This is great. Thank you."
"You're welcome." AJ replied, "So, how'd it go over there?"
Adrianne sighed, "Actually, I told Kevin off."
"Really?" AJ asked, "What did you say?"
"I told im he couldn't control me anymore. That I'm gonna be with you no matter what he says." Adrianne replied, "I also told him he's not my brother anymore."
"Oh" AJ said, "Well lets not think about that anymore. Let's just have a good time."
AJ leaned in to kiss Adrianne, but before he could, the phone rang.
AJ went to get up, but Adrianne stoped him.
"I'll get it." she said. She picked up the phone.
"Hello"
"Adrianne, it's Kevin. Don't hang up...."
"What do you want?"
"I wanna talk to you."
"Well I dont wanna talk to you."
"Just listen to me for a minute."
"Fine. What is it?"
"I'm sorry that I hit you. But I won't apologize for what I did to AJ. He deserved it! I still say he's using you."
"If you're gonna talk like that I really am gonna hang up."
"Ok ok. So, are you still gonna be a dancer for us?"
"Yeah but that doesn't mean I'm gonna go near you."
"Don't give me an attitude!"
"Well don't piss me off! Like I told you before, I'm gonna be with AJ no matter what. Not you or anyone else can come between us."
"What about Liz?"
"What about her?"
"Have you forgotten that your own best friend has had a crush on AJ for the last 8 years?"
"So what?"
"How do you think Liz is going to feel when she finds out you stabed her in the back? She's gonna find out eventually ya know. I think it would be best if she found out from you and not some sleezy tabloid."
"I don't have to tell her right away. She's coming to the last show of the tour. I'll tell her then."
"I think you should tell her now."
"Well I don't!"
"Well I do!"
"LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!
"Are you talking to Kevin?" AJ asked.
Adrianne nodded yes.
"Give me the phone please." AJ said.
Adrianne handed him the phone. AJ began to shout.
"What the hell do you think you're doing? DON'T EVER CALL THIS HOUSE AGAIN!!!"
"Fuck you"
"No thanks. I prefer to fuck your sister."
"You better watch it or else..."
"Or else what? You're gonna try to beat me to death again? I don't think so!"
"You bastard! You're using my sister and treating her like crap!"
"Actually, she was really happy up untill you called.
"I still don't apporove of it"
"We don't care! We don't need your approval. All that matters is that we love each other. Leave us alone!"
With that said, AJ hung up. He saw Adrianne sitting on their bed. She looked upset. He sat next to Adrianne and wrapped his arm around her.
"I'm so sorry about that." AJ said.
"It's ok." Adrianne replied, "It's not your fault."
AJ smiled and held Adrianne close to him, "C'mon, we'll get this cleaned up, put on our pajamas, and watch a few movies."
"Ok." Adrianne said.
They snuggled in bed together and watched Save The Last Dance & Coyote Ugly.
"I would love to own a bar like that!" Adrianne said.
AJ looked at her, "I don't think so! I wouldn't want you dressing like that unless it was for me."
Finally, the two of them went to sleep at about midnight.
*TWO WEEKS LATER*
Adrianne's stiches had been removed. Her bruises were almost completly gone.
"Are you ready to go?" Adrianne asked AJ.
"Yeah I'm ready." AJ said.
Besides his back being a little sore, AJ was completly recovered.
They got to the warehouse 15 minutes later.
As they walked up the stairs, AJ asked, "Are you scared?"
"No" Adrianne said, "Lets do this." She held onto AJ's hand as they entered the room.
Everyone was so excited to see Adrianne and AJ. Everyone except for Kevin.
"Hey bro." Nick said, "How are you?"
"Great" AJ replied.
Fatima came over and spoke with Adrianne, "Do you think you're ready to rehearse with us?"
"Yeah" Adrianne said, "Of course. Can you give me a minute to get ready though?"
"Sure" Fatima replied, "I'll set everything up."
Adrianne put down her stuff and started streching.
"Just remember everything we went over." AJ said.
"What if I mess up?" Adrianne asked.
"You won't." AJ told her, "Don't worry about it. Just act like it's just you and me in the room."
"Ok" Adrianne said, kissing AJ.
"Never thought I'd be seeing this." Howie said.
They all laughed.
"Are you ready?" Fatima asked.
Adrianne nodded yes.
AJ, Brian, Nick, and Howie all wished her good luck.
Fatima turned on "Everyone" and Adrianne began. She did every step as perfectly as she could. She was nervous at first, but once Adrianne got towards the end of the song, she fel more confident.

"Oh my god, that was incredible!" Brian said.
AJ went up and hugged Adrianne.
"I knew you could do it!" he said.
"Good job Adrianne." Fatima said, "Now lets all start."
*ONE MONTH LATER- the first show of the first leg of the Black & Blue tour.*
Adrianne had just finished in air and makeup.
"You look amazing." AJ said as he and Adrianne sat in the hallway of the Arena.
"Thanks Alex." Adrianne replied, "I'm so scared though. What if I forget everything? What if I mess up?"
"You're gonna drive yourself crazy thinking like that." AJ said, "Everything is gonna be fine."
Adrianne and AJ started making out like crazy.
"Oh boy." Nick said, roling is eyes, "Here we go again. Get a room you two!"
"Hey Nick, kiss my ass." Adrianne said.
"No thanks." Nick replied, "That's AJ's job."
"Oh!" Adrianne shouted, "You are so gonna get it Nicky!"
She picked up a water bottle and began chasing Nick with it.
After about five minutes, Adrianne and Nick stoped goofing around, and Adrianne turned her attention back to AJ.
"I love you." Adrianne said.
"I love you more." AJ replied.
They started making out again.
Just then, Kevin walked by and purposly coughed loudly.
Adrianne couldn't take it anymore. She picked up a basketball that was laying on the floor and threw it at Kevin.
Kevin walked toward Adrianne and said, "Why did you do that?"
"Because I felt like it." Adrianne replied, "That was really rude what you just did."
"I don't care." Kevin said.
Adrianne pushed Kevin against the wall.
Kevin lifted his fist to his sister.
AJ got in the middle of them and said, "I swear to God Kev, if you hit her, I will kick your ass right here and now."
"GO FOR IT!" Kevin shouted.
AJ grabbed Kevin by the shirt and slammed him against the wall.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Howie said, looking at AJ, Kevin, and Adrianne, "I'm sick of this. We all are. Come with me." Howie, AJ, Kevin, Adrianne, and the rest of the guys went into a dressing room. They all sat down.
Howie spoke again, "Nobody's leaving this room untill the three of you work things out. Each of you tell your side. Adrianne you go first."
"Well" Adrianne began, "First I'd like to say that I think Kevin's an asshole!"
Kevin interuptted, "Oh yeah? Well I think your..."
"Kevin!" Nick said angirly, "Don't interupt. You'll get your chance to talk. Right now it's Adrianne's. Sorry Adrianne. Go ahead."
Adrianne spoke again "I can't beleive you even thought about hitting me tonight. What would Dad think? Anyway, I don't want you to treat me like a baby. I'm 21 years old. I'm gonna be 22 in a few months. I can make my own decisions. I love AJ and I wanna be with him. Why can't you accept the fact that we're together? Why do you hate me so much?"
AJ then spoke, "I kinda understand why you're doing this. I know you wanna protect Adrianne because she's your little sister. I also know you don't want me to be with her because of my 'so called' reputation. But I really do love Adrianne and I would never do anything to hurt her."
Kevin took a deep breath and said, "I don't hate you Adrianne. I do all this because I love you. I don't wanna see you get hurt. Ever since Dad died, I've tried to act like a second father to you. I promised Mom I would take care of you. I know I may seem controlling. I probably shouldn't have gotten so mad at you and AJ. I'll try to get help for my anger. It's just that I'm scared..."
"Scared of what?" Adrianne asked.
"That you don't need me anymore." Kevin said, trying to hold back the tears.
Adrianne smiled, "Kevin, your my big brother! I'm always gonna need you. If it weren't for you, that guy in Austrailia might've killed me! And another thing, I could go to jail for you."
Kevin looked at her strangely, "What are you talking about?"
Adrianne continued, "I lied to the police. I told them that day that AJ and I had been beaten and robbed."
"Why did you do that?" Kevin asked.
"Because" Adrianne said, "Despite everything you've done, I still love you. I don't wanna see you go to jail."
"I'm sorry." Kevin said, "Can the two of you accept my apology?"
"Not yet." AJ replied, "But give us time and we might."
Everyone then stood up.
"C'mon" Brian said to Adrianne and Kevn, "We wanna see you two hug."
Adrianne was extremly heisitant.
"Will you settle for a handshake?" Kevin asked.
Adrianne and Kevin shook hands.
"We better go." Brian said. They all walked out.
After al lof them had huddled together and said a few prayers, Adrianne and AJ stood quitly in a corner.
"I'm so nervous." Adrianne said.
AJ held her close, "You don't have anything to be nervous about. I know you're gonna do great!"
Just then, one of the tour managers announced, "Dancers, I need you on stage in 2 minutes."
AJ hugged Adrianne and said, "Good luck. Although I know you don't need it."
Adrianne gave AJ a quick kiss, "Thanks. Good luck to you too. I love you."
As Adrianne got up on stage, she could hear the crowd chanting-
Backstreet Boys! Backstreet Boys! Backstreet Boys! Backstreet Boys!
Adrianne took a deep breath and began the opening number.
